Thank you for your interest in St. Matthew's Church. If you would like to hire one of our areas, or buildings please read carefully the relevant letting terms, and conditions.

If you accept our letting conditions, and wish to make a booking then please contact the Parish Administrator via email using the contact us page, by telephone, or if you prefer you can also contact us by mail at the address below.  

Please contact our Parish Administrator Monday – Thursday 8.30am - 1.30pm, Friday 8.30am-3.30pm, for details of Hall availability, and booking form.

HALL LETTING CONDITIONS

 

The use of St. Matthew’s Church Hall[s] are subject to the following conditions: -

IT IS ESSENTIAL WHEN USING THE HALLS THAT THE REAR DOOR BY THE KITCHEN IS UNLOCKED AND KEPT OPEN AT ALL TIMES WHEN YOU ARE IN THE HALLS.

1] The use and hire of the Hall[s] is at the discretion of the St. Matthew’s Church Parochial Church Council [Hiring Authority].

 

2] The Hall[s] may NOT be used for lectures, meetings or activities of a political nature, character or activity.

 

3] The Hall[s] may NOT be used for meetings, activities of a religious nature not in keeping with the teachings of the Church of England.

 

4] The maximum number of people permitted for the Hall[s], at any one time, is limited to 150.

 

5] Private dances including/excluding music, in the Hall[s], is only permitted for members affiliated to the Church of England. The Hirer/User MUST ensure they have the appropriate copyright licence when using recorded music or showing video’s relating to their reasons for hiring the hall[s]

 

6] The use of radio or other communicating devices IS allowed, providing noise levels do not contravene Noise Standards as set by the Local Authority Environmental Health office [Hirer/User must maintain this responsibility and enquire at Local Authority] and the Hirer/User MUST have or obtained the necessary authorisation so to use for Copyright purposes. [see Condition 5]

 

7] Private party applications will be considered individually. [see Conditions 1]

 

8] NO ALCOHOL is to be brought into the Hall[s], with the exception of wine used for the administration of Holy Communion by the Church of England.

                    9] Smoking or Gambling in Hall[s] is NOT permitted.

10] Hirer/Users MUST follow Health & Safety, Fire Instructions and be responsible for their own First Aiders.

 

11] The Hall[s] is to be left clean and tidy. A £20 returnable deposit required for all bookings.

                    12] No fixtures or fittings to be re-sited or moved.

13] No alterations to the Hall[s] are allowed without the prior permission of the Hiring Authority [St Matthew’s Church PCC.]

                    14] The Hirer/User is responsible for any breakages or damages.

15] ALL rubbish from the Hall[s] of the Hirer/Users making MUST be cleared and taken away from the site.

 

16] Hirer/User to ensure all private property is kept securely and keys given for use are NOT to be handed to ANY persons other than the issuer, unless otherwise directed to do so.

 

18] The Hiring Authority takes NO responsibility for the loss of personal items or possessions.

19] St. Matthew’s Church carries Public Liability Insurance for Hall[s] – the Hiring Authority recommends you check your own insurance cover before using the above.

4] The maximum number of people permitted for the Church, at any one time, is limited to 300.

 

5] Private dances including/excluding music, in the Church, is only permitted for members affiliated to the Church of England.
